putting larger tires on the 05 nismo

im interested in this kit http://performancelifts.com/cgi-bin/cart/PRGNFLK.html

i then want to get 33" tires. what is the widest tire i can get on the stock wheels?

this is to hold me over a few years until my warranty is out and i can switch over to something like the calmini 5" lift.

also... what can i expect to change in terms of speedometer readings, gas mileage, shifting, etc...

thanks for the info.

i believe the largest size for the lift and rim are a 285/70/16.

can someone else verify this. i have not thought about this in a while. i want to wait till 4x4parts.com comes out with their coils and prg come out with new a-arms before i think of lifts again. the calmini lift looks like it will be nice, but i think it would cost upwards of $1300 for the kit alone.

actually it says right at the bottom 285/75/16 which is 33x11.50.

now will that size fit the stock rims? i might just go with procomp series 125 steel rims in 16x8 anyway.

im going with interco tsl/ thornbird tires.

i plan on adding shrockworks rock sliders, front steel bumper and steel rear bumper. both w/ integrated 2" receivers.

my kenwood 7017 in-dash touch screen dvd player is getting installed next week. as well as a viper remote start/alarm. woohoo.

Find someplace that will test fit the tires that you want. Some tires run taller or wider at any given size. The 285 is the tire width but it's the width of the carcass, not the tread width.

I should be getting the same kit in a couple months. I decided to install the skids and fog lights now which will leave me a little short for the lift. Hopefully I'll have the Shrockworks sliders by the end of the year. I'm gonna run the crappy grabbers until they die though.

Im running toyo mudders 285/75/16s on my stock wheels. 33.5 inches tall and 11 inches wide. Work insanely off road, and look very very badass. Im switching over to 33x12.5x17 next month though. Avon radial sxt mudders. Nice looking tire.

that size tire will fit but do talk to your tire guys. like others have said, some tires run bigger or smaller than equally sized tires of a different brand.

are the thornbirds going to be your weekend tire or will they be your dailys? the thornbirds are really soft and wear out quickly. perhaps something to think about.

there were going to be dailys. can you recommend a tire that is meaty like the thornbirds, but works well on the street too?

the usual suspects...
BF Goodrich All Terrain K/O
BF Goodrich Mud Terrain (not great in rain and terrible on ice)
Nitto Terra Grapplers
Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo
Toyo Open Country A/T and M/T
