I had an Idea with the K&N intake..
We all know about the K&N 77 series by now...
I think the 63 is looking better now,.
But I had this idea. the K&N 77 has a metal air intake tube.
Now, most of the forum agreed that this would effectively heat up the air, and therfor decrease air density and horsepower.
BUT! What if you welded/soldered/thermal expoxied a Heatpipe or copper strip (any computer guys out there?) from your airconditioning cold line?
The A/C line is quite exposed, and gets quite cold when the A/C is on. The heat from the Metal K&N pipe would flow along that copper (or heatpipe) metal to the A/C line, and be cooled down very quickly. This would in effect make the metal intake line on the K&N COLD. Now, in typical use, this wouldnt matter that much, however, I always turn off my A/C before I race someone off the line. SO now I have a cold Intake (courtesy the A/C) and no additional engine load!
In the summer, it would decrease my cooling of the cab a little bit, but I can take the heat...
