What kind of exhaust would be good for it?

Do a search under exhaust systems and you will find a lot
of threads on this subject. I looked at all of the catbacks available and then decided to go with a custom exhaust system so that I could get the exact sound I wanted. Most of the catbacks were a little too raspy for me.

I ended up with true duals. The pipes were split just in front of the Y and then I had a pair of 12" resonators instal-
led. Next they put a dual in dual out 22"Pro-Flo muffler. I
used the stock sized pipe to the rear as was recommended by the shop that installed my system. Finally I had a pair of double wall stainless steel tips added.

I had my system installed by Kinney's Muffler Shop in Bed-
ford, TX. You can view their website at: www.kinneysmufflershop.com. I highly recommend them.

You can view my truck at: www.picturetrail.com/okiescot.

I am not familiar with the 50 series Flowmaster. I did use a 40 series Flowmaster on my 2000 XE KC and it had a very nice deep sounding tone. The only problem was that it was too loud at cruising speeds.

Good luck with your project.

I ended up get a 40 series flowmaster with one input and one output with a 3.5 inch chrome tip, since the spare was in the way i couldnt get a dual. But it sounds great, not too loud but deep.

Do you have a full size spare or something? I got that stupid little donut spare(well, it is a 16" rim with a little rubber tire) and I was able to get duals without a problem.

for some reason the spare is offset from the centerline of the truck

The spare is touching the rubber on the hanger, but it is rubber on rubber, so I wasn't too worried. I have since trimmed it down so that there is no contact and soon will be putting a full size spare up there. I don't remember the tire size I had figured out, but it will be just slightly shorter(when putting them side by side) and hardly noticeable on the 15" rim vs. the 16" spare donut rim.<--That too will increase the gap, but again, its just rubber on rubber and the only time they ever meet each other now is on cold startups.
