Question about interchangability of engines

I was wondering if a 4 cylinder 2.4 liter engine from a 95 Nissan Pickup would fit a 4 cylinder 2.4 liter engine from a 97 Nissan Pickup. The only difference beside the year is the 95 pick up is a 4WD and the 97 is a 2WD. Any inquiries would be appreciated immensely.

Should eb the same.

A few states wont let you put an older engine into a vehicle (maine being one of them...for some reason they think we need to take the worst crap laws from every state and make them law here).

Thanks for the information. I can just use the oil pan off of my engine. I live in Texas and all we have to do is pass inspection which includes a tailpipe test.

I think the biggest differences would be in the elctronic motor controls, but being only two years apart, I think they'd be just fine. Do a little reading on the injection system on both. If there are no glaring differences, it's probably the exact same system. They just occasionally change little things from year to year.
Good luck
