'05 LE CC "tick"

After my first oil change, I've noticed a rapid ticking or rattle coming from the engine when starting off, and using a little more than a moderate acceleration. Almost sounds like lifters, but not quite. When I back off the throttle, the sound disappears. I read in another thread that it may be the fuel injectors. The dealership said it was an AC line rattling, and put a zip tie on the line, but it didn't stop. I wanted to get some input here before I go back to the dealership. Any ideas?

Who did the oil change? If it was the dealership, I'll assume they used a genuine Nissan filter with the anti-drain back valve (although I think it'd be a stretch to blame ticking on using a filter without that feature). But, I wouldn't assume that they put everything back together correctly (skid plates, etc.). Have you taken a good look around the engine compartment and underneath?

The first or second test drive I took before I bought my 05 in April did the same thing, and the ticking got more and more annoying with acceleration. Fortunately I didn't buy the demo model and mine has never had that problem. I have heard of this before from a few people. I'm pretty sure it's not the lifters, it sounded more like something coming from inside the firewall on the driver's side. That being said, the dealership pretty much stonewalled me and I never got any answer as to what it was.

I believe someone else had mentioned this ticking sound was the fuel injectors. Mine makes the same sound.
