Defrost On w/ control in foot only possition

Does anyone no why the defrost is on when the vent control knob is in the foot only position? In my 2005 Frontier I'm not sure there is any difference between the foot only and the foot and defrost positions. When you switch to Foot and Dash the defrost turns off so I can only assume the vent doors are working properly. Is there any way to adjust this?

if the set up is cable type you can adjust the cable behind the glove box. if you are still in warranty let the dealer take care of it for you.
