The dte computer stops at I think 15 miles left in the tank. I have driven for 35 miles after the display goes to ----. When I fillup it has never taken over 18.8 gallons on a 21 gallon tank. I know that they don't want to cut it too close and have people run out of gas but that seems a bit extreme to me. Has anybody else noticed this also or is my pickup in the tank too high?

My Altima is the same way, starts flashing ---- when it has about 2 gal left in the tank. Doesn't really bother me though, at least I know I can still make it to the gas station.

ive had mine go from "15" to "10" to "5" DTE then display "----" DTE and still only got 18 gallons in it at the pump. which means i had about 3 gallons left

3*15 = 45 miles , so yes i think the monitor is a bit extreme...

I couldnt live with an auto and needed a CC so I dont have the trip computer but my gas light comes on real early. I've driven 60 miles after it came on and put in 20.1 gallons (that was my 400 mile tank). Now I just fill up the next time I go by my normal filling place (which I go by 10 times a week).

I think it is a little excessive how early the light comes on but...it probably saves a little extra wear on the fuel pump since if you listen to it you wont run the tank real low.

acts about the same way on my truck - comes on, and the most i've put in it after it goes to ---- was 18.6 which was last night when i actually did some driving after it went blank...
