warm air coming from vents

Hello I have a 2000 Frontier Crew Cab 2 wheel drive 6 cylinder. I noticed about a month when we had a couple cooler (if you can call it that here in Florida) days I put my windows down and put my air selector to vent and the temp dial all the way to cold and the air coming out of the vents as I was driving would get warm even though it was cool outside temperature. Does anybody have any ideas what would cause this? I would really appreciate it. Thanks

some vehicles have the vent intake in the a-pillar area pass side between the door hinges behind the fender. ( did that make sense?) anyway, it's possible you are getting ambient air temp from the engine compartment. that's why recycled air gets cooler A/C than normal also.

So, if you turn the temp dial to hot, the air gets hotter? Just wondering if your temp dial linkage is working. I looked in my '04 Service Manual but wasn't able to find what controls the valve that lets coolant flow through the heater core. Actually, I haven't been able to identify where that valve is or if it even exists; I haven't really looked this vehicle over that much in the 11 months I've owned it, but based on other vehicles, I'm assuming that a mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic valve is controlling coolant flow. Of course, I could be completely wrong here. I have to go read my manual more now

I may be mistaken, a look at the manual would be best, but I don't think you have a valve for coolant flow in the heater core. typicaly the temp is controled by a blend/mix door in the housing. If the linkage is out of sync you will have these type problems. A little warmer air is normal but not by much.
