Thoughts on elf oil products?

The Frontier just turned 3000 miles this morning and i will taking it to the dealer for a free oil change. i want to go synthetic but the dealer only offers elf oil products and i know many of you recommend mobil 1. does anyone have experience with elf? apparently, it is the oil that is used by bmw, mercedes benz, and other high end automobiles. any thoughts...mobil 1 versus elf?

Well since its French, you probably only need to worry about your engine surrendering. Seriously though, I don't have much experience with Elf only to know them from F1. Why don't you just bring your own Mobil 1? Free is only good if you want what they are offering. Let them give you the labor for free....

if it's good enough for F1 it should be good enough for the Frontier

If you change it at 3K intervals, you can almost run roofing tar and be ok. todays engines are so clean that real junk can suffice in short innervals. Besides, if it's approved by the factory, and by F1, it can't be too bad. Surely no worse than the $1 per quart stuff from Wal-Mart.
