I am torn.

(obviously, I would need to add some $$$ to that )

do it! pull the trigger. i just purchased rubber floormats and skip plates for the truck. i wish i would have gone with the afe cai, but one thing at a time i suppose. i should have it all by next summer. cai, custom cat back exhaust, and 3" suspension lift if someone decides to build one by then. i guess i could always go with the 5" Calmini but it seems excessive for me. who knows? i may change my mind.

also...i took this from another forum

How about 10% off and free shipping? I placed my order today at truckracingparts.com and about five minutes after I submitted the order I noticed they have a 10% off coupon for all aFe products (code "afe"). I fact, it was right on their homepage. Anyhow, I sent them an email and they gave me the discount. Very cool.

A-ha!!! This is the correct one, too; if I am not mistaken from the previous posts regarding these. Nissan 2005 Frontier Stage 2 aFe Magnum Force Intake
[54-10492]

With 10% off, and free shipping - this may be the Hot Ticket!!

I say "Bite the Bullet", or "pull the trigger", or any other metaphoric reference to action. No time like the present for more power; the extra 10% is just more reason to jump on it.

Totally tubular dude

I don't know, I'd be careful... That would put you $7.67 over budget!

So, with all those are we to assume you have a new aFe Intake on order? If so, looking forward to your impressions!

Ordering it today, Paul! I spoke with aFe, too. They know, your friend, and mine: Reverend Biker. They explained to me that it was not important that the shield doesn't close right up to the fenderwell. They said this: "When you open the throttle, cold air is brought in before warm". So; it isn't important for the shield to close right up to the fenderwell. I was really curious about that, so I called. I'm sold. I'm buying the aFe.

Greg,

Well, I'm eagerly awaiting your impressions! I'm currently leaning toward waiting on an intake until after the warranty is up just because of a bad experience I had with a previous truck, but this deal sure is tempting!

Nice Price, Kevin! But; I have exchanged few emails already with truckracingparts.com. And; they have been quite nice. So; this time, I will give them the business. I will keep trailwerks bookmarked for next go round. 'Much appreciated, though.

Not that it really matters, but that write up is aFe's write-up of aFe's intake! You think they may be a little biased?

Anyway, for what it's worth, it is an interesting article, and in aFe's favor, the few members of these forums who have tried the aFe have given it good reviews. When that time comes, I too, will probably opt for the aFe! Thanks for posting the article!
