door speakers

I am wanting to upgrade my door speakers in my '00 fronty CC 4x4. I don't want to do twice the work and take off the door panels just to measure the OEM speakers. Just wondering if anybody out there has replaced them and what size and maybe some suggestions as which spseakers would be the best. I still have my OEM head unit, will replace sometime in the futre and am not running an amp, (as of yet)

Hope this link works for you. I just went to Crutchfield's website and clicked on the link for what fits. Atleast it will give you an idea of what fits.

Specifically, the front door speakers are 6x9. They're screwed into spacers, but the screws are in the right places to fit most aftermarket speakers. Changing them out is a breeze. The rear speakers in a king cab are 6.5" and not as easy to swap, but still nothing incredibly difficult. I don't know about crew cabs.

6 1/2" on my 04 kc frontier. I can't see it being a different size in the cc.
I used Pioneer TS-A1671R 3 ways. I am no audiophile so these were good enough for me. I am pretty happy with them.
