i'm getting an aftermarket alarm installed w/keyless entry and was wondering if any of you know wether or not the door handles w/o keyhole for the passanger and rear driver door (from courtesyparts.com) will also work on the front driver door.
tia
I am not sure if they would work or not. the configuration of the rear drivers side door should be the same as the drivers door I would think.
I would be very afraid to have it where you could not use a key in case of system failure, etc.
Just a thought.

You guys are psychic!! This happened to my wife TODAY in fact. The battery in her keyless remote has been dying and today it finally gave up. She actually stood outside the car bewildered for a moment until she realized, "Oh yeah, I can use the key!"
Don't tell her I told you.
And no she isn't blonde!!

thanks for the concerns...however i'm not worried about getting locked out. hasnt happend to any of my past cars yet. i am planning on getting the 3.5 which has a 2way remote with battery life indicator. the only real thing that would have to go would be the truck battery, and it would have to be a faulty battery or if the lights were left on...since the batt is new, i have faith it wont go bad (knock on wood..plus i may eventually swap it out for an optima) and then there is the stock warning chime to remind you to turn your headlights off.

I have just installed the chrome handles on my truck and the handle portion is all the same. The only difference is in the smaller section which has the hole for the key lock. So if you got the one without the hole it would fit.
I want to do this also, how much is the aftermarket alarm with keyless installed go for?
my installer is gonna charge me $350ish for the alarm. there are lots of options out there, depending on who and what alarm you go with. you can definately find one for cheaper than what i am paying.
