'Just want to say; I'm loving my '05 Frontier V6 6Spd! Silverstars are installed...

... But; I haven't done any night driving yet.

I took this coming Monday off. I think, I am going to clay bar it, and polish and wax it. I washed it Thursday afternoon. And; it has been in the garage ever since. It was my Wife's Birthday yesterday. I took off work, went to see "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire", and then; went to dinner. We took her Protege ES (it's a 5spd manual - my Wife is very cool! )

Oh! Thursday night, we went and saw the "Trans-Siberian Orchestra". WOW!!!! If you love Christmas, and what it's about; see them if they come to your area. They ROCK!!!!

Truck looks great in those pix. How was Harry? Need to take my son to see it.

I'd be interested in your review of the bulb replacements. This is one mod I'd like to do as well. The headlights are fine but I'm used to Xenon bulbs in my other driver. Night driving was always hard until I got Xenon. While I realize the Silverstars are probably no match, if they are a big improvement, it will be a must have for me.

Trans Siberian definitely rox...got a couple tunes on my Ipod by them.

I installed the silverstars in my truck a couple days after I got it, and they made a huge difference! Granted thay aren't xenon or HID, but for the price they were definately a huge improvement over the stock bulbs!

Also, some earlier 05's (Mine included) had the headlights adjusted toward the ground and did not project far in front of the truck. Several of us have had to adjust the headlights up a turn to a turn and a half, which also made a big difference. This may have been caught at the factory on later 05's and the 06's because I haven't heard anymore about it for the past few months. But, thought I'd let you know this may also play into the mix!

That is one of the things we checked out. The height seems fine. If they were any higher I'd be blinding the cars in front so they must have realized the error of their ways.

Looks like I need to go do some more shopping

My 2005 was built in August (almost an '06) and the headlamp alignment seems to be ok. I did some research on upgrading the bulbs anyway and came across this:
http://www.danielsternlighting.com/home.html
The guy seems to be dead set against the Silverstars and most other "bluish bulbs". I did install the factory fogs and they fill the light void between the low beams and the immediate front of the truck. A nice upgrade.

I have the SilverStars and they aren't blue! Sylvania does sell some that do have a blue hue to them, but they don't advertise them as adding any additional vision enhancements. I definately noticed a difference after adding the SilverStars, and they are a good, inexpensive alternative to more expensive brands. Just my .02, they work for me!

FastCrewCab,

Thank you for the Daniel Stern website. It is very interesting and I have emailed them for their recom-
mendations for better lighting for my truck.

Please post their recomendation when you get the message back. I had silver stars in my wife's grand am, and besides the difference in the color of the beam(less of a amberish color), I noticed no improvment in lighting.

Me too, please post their recommendations when you get them. I have Silverstars in my truck, and other than the color change I haven't noticed much difference. I LIKE the whiter color so I don't feel I wasted my money but I don't see any real improvement otherwise.

For the $37.00, I think they made a nice difference. If they cost $100, then it would have been too much. I think, for the money, the Silverstars are good, however. Any improvement to me is a nice improvement. I drive through lots of woods, and back country. Every little bit helps.

I agree. For the money I spent I am happy with the results.

Daniel Stern feedback

Mitchell35758,

Daniel emailed me that our trucks are hard to upgrade
well. He said not to use the Sylvania Silverstars. His
recommendation for our trucks is the GE Nighthawk.

I emailed him back to see if he had anything better to offer
and he said surely not. Since he does not sell the GE Nighthawks and would stand to make ,money off of me if I bought something else from him I feel like the Nighthawks
are the best way to go.

I asked him about the fog lights and he said there was nothing out there that would do a better job.

With all of the super lighting available out there I assume he means that there is nothing better because of the
lights Nissan uses and that a lot of the lights we get blinded by on a nightly basis are not street legal in most states.

His parting remark was DO NOT DRIVE WITH YOUR FOG-
LIGHTS EXCEPT WHEN NECESSARY!!

Do take time to read all of the information on his website.
It is most informative.

OkieScot
