I've had my baby at Hollister Hills SVRA, tearing up the trails, with nods from two guys with tacoma v6's because the extra GO juice from the frontier gets it up the hill climb in stock form

The Taco is not faster then the Fronty..... look at the 1/4 times
I'm upset it didn't do "as well" as the Toyota in the sand... I drive on the beach about 2 or 3 days a week. I'll put that claim to the test myself soon as my truck arrives. =]

weight had a lot to do with it. the taco is 400 pounds less and floats better over the soft sand. i think putting on wider tires with more aggressive tread would help tremendously and compensate for the weight.
Plundered around the Edmunds site after watching the shootout video and in the pictures of the 2006s on the "Other" tab there is a picture of the 16" wheels but CHROME. Is this true?? Has anybody seen a 2006 with chrome wheels?? Or is this just an odd picture that got stuck in there somehow??
I also noticed that the interior pics don't show the chrome trim around the gauges and on the dash vents. What gives?? Do only the 2006 LE's get the shiny stuff??

Their review says the Frontier has more room in front and rear, but I compared both trucks and the Tacoma has a lot more room inside, specially in the rear.

Oh, indeed. Soon as I can i'll be sticking some wider and nobbier tires on for just that reason. =]

Okay, I looked at the quarter-mile times, and it appears, just like every other comparison test I've seen, that the Tacoma is indeed slightly quicker than the Frontier. No big deal to me, but the Taco's better horsepower-to-weight ratio gives it a slight advantage.
Frontier LE 0-60 @ 8.2, 1/4 mile @ 16.22
Frontier Nismo 0-60 @ 8.4, 1/4 mile @ 16.30
a truck is not a drag car. More HP does not translate to faster times.
