Light scratches and marks in paint...

I took the bedcaps and tailgate cover off of my truck today. I plan to carpet the bed and get a flush fiberglass tonneau soon. The caps and tailgate protector have left some scuffs in the paint though. I tried some polishing compound and wax, but with no real effect. Any suggestions?

You may try a light rubbing compound. Other than that, I don't think there is much else you can do.

You could try the whole wet sand, polish, polish, ... polish, buff, wax route. There should be Web sites out there that would tell you what grit sandpaper and how many polish pastes you should go through. If the scratches aren't deeper than the clearcoat, that may work well.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. Hey Jerry, it looks like your exhaust mounts in the same locations as mine, I'd be willing to bet that the Gibson should fit on yours.

Thanks for the exhaust tip (no pun intended). I know I called Magnaflow and the "tech" couldn't confirm if their package fit. I thought I called Gibson also and got the same indecisive answer, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I'm happy with what I have right now, but I keep checking the sites every now and then to see what's available.
