K&N Series 63 Intake

I see that on the k&n site they now have the series 63 intake kit. Its looks a lot better then the series 77 kit. I think i might have to pick one up.

nice kit! i might consider that for the future? fuel mileage is crucial, will i take a hit w/ the k&n filter or do you gain a bit? so much for 265 hp like nissan advertises, what a crock of sh#t. thanks

Remember, the 265 HP is at the crank, the dyno shows rear wheel HP, there is considerable loss through the transmission and drive line!

I like this kit better than the K&N FIPK with the metal intake tube. My best guess is that you won't see any appreciable difference in performance between any of the four (2 K&N, aFe, Volant) available intake kits; all should gain you 8-10 rear wheel horsepower. I have the aFe because it was the first available and I still think that it's probably the best choice if you're on a budget. If you don't mind spending a few extra dollars I like the Volant because of its rugged construction and enclosed air box.

Volant CAI

I am still trying to decide if I am going to get a CAI. If I do I'll go with the Volant because I like the way it looks better.

I also tend to listen to Reverendbiker when he speaks as he always backs up his statements with facts and tests.
If Volant is good enough for him it's good enough for me.

Interesting...... Interesting. So; how much is this 'new' K&N?

Thanks!!

Still; I'm liking the price of the aFe. Plus!!! Plus!!! You get to keep the Nissan Logo with the aFe.

I have yet to find anything about price or when I can purchase it. I will pick up after the holidays so I am sure then there should be some places to sell it. I am going to go with the k&n because I have used there fipk many times in the past on my jeep and they have never let me down. Brand loyality i guess.

We will have to see if we can get revrendbiker to install this one, and compare it to the one he has currently

I think we need to take up a collection to purchase these things if we want him to test them. It would get very expensive if he tried to test everything out there that I
would want him to test.

Maybe he needs to start a Consumer Report type service
for the Frontier forums and then charge a fee for the
privilege of seeing all of our favorites tested.
