riding around in my 05 se and salt Q

I got into this forum back in summer and it had a lot of good info. Around the end of October I picked up a canteen/tan se 6sp 4x2. The only thing I'm not too crazy about is the tan interior, I wanted black. My dog's hair shows up less on the tan but his foot prints show up more. I hate seat covers, but I'm gonna get some.

That engine is very nice. I just have to try and restrain my foot, but it's just so damn fun.

I'm up here in Minneapolis now and I concerned about this comming road salt.
When I lived up here before, I kept my vehicles clean esp. the underbody, but rust crept into a few areas anyway. Should I bother getting the undercarriage ziebarted or is the factory standard undercoating good enough?
I hate to put my first new vehicle through this.

Oh and in a frozen climate, should I go hard or soft tonneau? I don't plan on hauling much over winter.
