Question Boosting problems

My brother drives a 2001 Nissan Frontier Supercharged 4x4 Crew Cab with
intake, exhaust and s/c pully upgraded and is only boosting at 6lbs of boost.
He should be boosting around 9 to 12 pounds, just wondering if anybody else
is having the same problem.

I've talked to the folks that sold him the pully and told me it may either be the boost gauge or the s/c not working. But he also told me if my brother had a wastegate/blow off valve/bypass valve, if he doesnt have one to release the excess boost, but I've never heard of a s/c having to much boost :-/.

So if anybody has anything informative to chime in please do to help me out

My experience is with the M-112 so take this for what it's worth.

The biggest reason for not reaching expected boost with a smaller pulley on the M-112 was belt slip. Look for belt powder on and around the blower pulley (and under the hood).

There isn't a blow-off per se like a turbo system. The bypass essentially allows air to flow directly to the intake without going through the rotors. It's possible that if the actuator isn't allowing the bypass to close, you're losing boost to the bypass.
