Is any of this true? I was also told if I did not replace this I would be taking the chance of destroying my valves. I sub-contract Courier deliveries with supplies to Nursing Homes all over my state. I need to keep my rubber on the road at all times!!! So...It worries me. Can someone help me please?

I would write this in the proper engine/chassis section for more detailed info. That aside, I'm pretty sure Monroe doesn't have a Nissan specific scanner, so the code is generic at best. The Knock sensor pulls timing when it detects detonation (which could do a lot more damage than just to your valves). I seriously doubt it's a 14 hour job, however. As for the exhaust code... than could be a lot of things. I would post this in the correct section, list the numbers of the code the shop got, and any symptoms your car is showing.
If the car is running fine... sometimes if the gas cap is not tight enough it will throw some strange codes. Make sure it's secure and give it a few days, the codes may disappear.
