Question Chrome Front Bumper

(for the forum police, I did search)

Which 05 Frontiers got the chrome front bumper?

Is it trim specific (SE, LE, etc...) or did they just make some with it then stopped?

Can you directly install one on a 2005 Frontier that has the plastic front or would you have to get a different front face specific to the chrome bumper?

Thanks,

Don't quote me on this, but I believe: LE- Painted bumper, SE- Chrome, XE- Black bumper.

That makes sense to me. I have the LE so it's not chrome. Thanks.

chrome bumpers

Meta,

My selection guide shows that the SE KC/CC, the Nismo
KC/CC and the LE KC all get chrome front and rear bumpers. The LE CC gets color matching bumpers. The
XE gets black bumpers.

Hey, thanks again. I guess I went out of my way to pick the one model that doesn't have the chrome bumpers. It's not a huge deal. They sure look nice though. I'm guessing they stand up to road debis a little better than painted plastic too.

Meta,

They definitely do stand up better. I wish the chrome plas-
tic grill surround had been made of metal as well. Then I
would not have all of the small pits in it.

SE- Definately Chrome. Yeah, the grill is starting to get a little beat up from the road debris

It would be nice to see one of the aftermarket companies come up with a complete (Billet for example) grill. Not just the inserts but the whole grill made out of aluminum (I'd prefer brushed since I have no chrome anywhere) or polished for you guys with chrome accents.
Development/production costs would probably outweigh the limited market (though there actually should be a growing market with the 06's selling now and especially if the Pathfinder uses the same grill).

This is sorta related... just saw an '05 Xterra that had a full Frontier front-end conversion (bumper, grill, fenders, etc.). Looked GREAT! I assume it had been wrecked and they chose to use Frontier parts instead.

Made me wish you could get one from the factory that way! It looked much better than the plastic on the Xterra.
