1999 Quest van electrical problem

During a light rain, I was driving our van and made a stop at a local store. When I got back in and tried to start the van, there was a 'clicking' sound under the hood. A gentleman offered to use his jumper cables. After we hooked them up, he noticed that the connection to the negative side of the battery was loose. After moving the connection back and forth, we tried the key again and the van started right up. After I got home, my wife asked me to run her on a few errands. We got in the van and started it, and, because it was still raining lightly, I turned the switch on to my windshield wipers, and they would not work. I also noticed that the radio would not turn on. After further investigation, I noticed that the outside mirror adjustment knob on the door (electrically powered) would not work. I checked the fuse box and all of the fuses that go to these areas looked just fine. Can anyone come up with a solution to this problem? Thank you.
