I have a 2WD, XE with 5 speed standard

I have replaced the timing chain on my Nissan pickup due to noise. This did not fix the problem. When my RPM hits 3200 the engine sounds like it is coming apart. I assumed it was the chain. The trashing/rattling noise is constant with or without power anytime I am over 3200. The noise is coming from the upper part of the engine. Below 3200 it is quite and powerful. 153,000 miles - no oil use & good maintenance.

sounds like a lifter issue,(maybe) the rockers have a small lifter in them and they could be bleeding-down. Just a guess........
