Vent Visors?

I'm looking to get some vent visors to install on my truck. I want the ones that mount by being inserted into the window channel, not the ones that are applied with tape or clips. Any advise as to which brands are the best? Pro or cons for one brand over another? I've never had a vehicle that had them before, so this is a first for me. Any help/advise/experiences with this type of part would be greatly appreciated.

OEM Nissan Vent Visors

I just purchased the Nissan OEM 4 pcs. visors for my '05 Nismo CC 4x4 from Courtestparts.com for under $60. I went w/ the OEM because there are not many mfg's. that make them for the '05's. If they did, a few places wanted close to $100. The OEM are a combo of double sided tape & clips. It seems like they would be very secure. In the past, I've had the tape kind and had no issues. They were mfg. by VentShade. The most important step is to clean the surface w/ alcohol.

I should be receiving the visors in a few days. After I install them, I will post my comments.

I also ordered the OEM Step Tubes.......

I just ordered visors from a local truck accessory shop for $45.00 plus tax installed. A lot of people don't like the stick ons but if they're installed properly they'll stay on a real long time. My last truck had the kind that go in the channel. The up and down motion of the glass began to damage the visors and the small gap created in the channel made wind noise and a slight water leak.

Weathertech windlectors

I just installed the Weathertech windflectors on my '05LE KC. They are in channel and look great. So far I have not noticed any extra wind noise and no leakage when washing the truck. I have not been caught in any rain yet.

I got the dark ones and they were $54.95 plus $9 shipping.
The clear ones are $49.95 plus $9 shipping.

They make one for the rear door on the KC, but it is a tape
on as there is no window channel. I did not choose to go that route.

The windflectors are heck for stout. I had to exert quite
a bit of pressure to get the visors to flex enough to go in the channels.

The driver's side works great, but the passenger's side still puts a little load on the motor as it raises the window. I
have only had the windflectors on for a little over a week and I have not used the windows much yet.

I am told that it will free up as it is used. If it frees up
then I will be totally satisfied with them. They do not stick out as far as the stick on versions and to me they look a lot nicer. A quality looking piece worth the money to me.

Now my wife wants me to get some for her Solara.

I bought these these a couple of weeks ago, and I'm happy with them so far. They fit in the channel, with tape that ahderes to the outside edge of the channel. I haven't had any rain on them yet, but they don't interfere with the windows going up or down, and they were very easy to install.

Guess I missed one detail about the in-channel visors. My last truck was a 1996 Ford. Perhaps window channel design has changed for the better. Wind noise drives me nuts and the visors were quite thick which pushed the channel out of the way. The water only came in when I washed under the visors or rain hit exactly on the edge. Reading what you folks posted makes me think that perhaps todays visors are superior in design.
BTW, Triffid, how did you run the wires for your Leer cap? Mine's going on this week and the idea of drilling holes scares me.

Worren...
The wires were spliced to the left rear taillamp assy and came out inside the bed where it wraps around to meet the tailgate... I had a bed rug so it covered the connection/fuse and wires... We then used quick connect plugs so you could remove the cap as needed... Don't forget to remove the bulb on the truck center brake lamp... Have fun..........Triffid

Thanks for the info. Good tip about the bulbs. The '05 has a center stop light and two cargo lights so I'll be pulling three bulbs.
