I just purchased an '05 NISMO crew cab and I'm wondering about the tire clearance between the tires and the fenders. I do a lot of winter off-road driving and it'd be nice to be able to chain up from time to time. There doesn't appear to be a lot room to spare for tire chains. Has anyone had any success putting tire chains on an '05 NISMO?

Is the Truck 4X4? You shoulnt need chains if it is..

Obviously you've never driven in deep snow.
Yes, it is 4x4. I've had the extreme displeasure of digging multiple "4x4" trucks out of deep snow before, when 4x4 trucks with chains moved right on through the area w/o issue.
I did a little more investigation and it looks like chains on the front tires is out of the question. But, I think I can get a set on the rear........which is better than nothing.
There is another thread out there somewhere with a picture of a leveling kit made by Stillen. It's basically a 1 1/2" to 2" machined aluminum spacer that attached to the top of the front springs and increases the front end of the truck to sit level with the rear. This would probably obtain the same clearance for the front wheels as the rear and allow you the clearance you need to add chains to the front wheels as well.

In the mountains: deep would be up to the rear view mirrors
Driving into hunting camp in the fall, I've ridden in a Ford Explorer with chains on all 4 tires, pushing through snow up to the rear view mirrors. Had to get out every once in a while and break up the pile of snow being created by the grill, which was acting as a plow.
...LOL..Yeah..it is. I used to spend the winters in North Dakota, and gettin to work on an early monday morning was always fun. Really...I ennjoyed it.
