Checking '05 auto tranny fluid

The '05 Frontier tranny is sealed so there is no way of checking the fluid. Anyone know a way to get around this, or is there any reason to? I like to check my own.

I seem to recall hearing somewhere that the dipstick tube is still there (on the passenger side of the engine), but instead of having a handle there is a nut. Again, I don't exactly remember where I heard this, and I don't know if a dipstick is attached to the nut or not.

procedure from service manual....

in the service manual they are asking technicians to check the tranny while it is hooked up to a consult scantool cause they check it at a specific oil temperature. this is the reason it's bolted in place and the owners manual tells you to have nissan do it. My code scanner will report the temperature for me so i'll be doing it myself. The temperature affects the level a surprising amount, it would be very easy to overfill a tranny if checked too cold, or underfill it if checked too hot.
