Hi, i know this question would have been asked many times before but i couldnt find a thread makng it clear..
i have a sr20det with a hole in the side of the block (break a rod) and am having alot of trouble finding a replacement here in NZ, my question is this:
are the internals of a sr20de the same as the det, if so i take it it would be possible to bolt everything from the det onto the de?

oh.. sorry, i thought you ment the block.. the compressoin is a little different.. its 8:5:1, instead of the US 9:5:1.. so... you willl probably gain a little more HP from higher compression.
so a non-turbo is 9.5:1 as opposed to the det at 8.5:1?
if so, this would result in me only being able to run low boost levels? without replacing headgasket with a thicker one to lower the compression closer to the 8.5:1?
Correct, compression is higher on an N/A DE. Makes for more power, yes, but you'll have to keep your boost down or tune it carefully and support it well with a good IC etc. I think a high compression DE can boost very high as well though, provided its tuned/supported well.
