Does anyone know the part number that would be on the amp for the Premium 10 Speaker Bose system that would come in the 2006 Pathfinder LE. I am being told by Nissan that it is bad and they are asking $650 to replace it. I know that its only 2 plugs and 4 bolts to replace it and if I can find one cheaper somewhere else I will gladly do it myself. :waving:

I just bought a 1995 pathy. It came with an OEM remote keyless entry (RKE) fob (looks old and worn down). When I first hooked up the control module under the seat (it was disconnected), the RKE would lock and unlock the doors fine. Additionally when I pressed the horn button, it would beep twice, the parking lights would flash, nothing would happen, and the unlock, lock function would not work until I put the key back into the ignition and turned it on.

After about a week now, the RKE will lock the doors, but will not unlock. When the doors are locked and I press the lock/unlock button on the fob, the pathy beeps and the lights flash, but it doesn't unlock. And now when I press the horn button on the fob nothing happens.

Hello first post- Looking to buy a pathfinder for the winter. I owned a perfect condition 92 with 70K's on it a few years back and absolutely loved it. Basic solid and simple. Had to sell it though.

I am buying another one in the next few weeks for wintertime and have a toss up on which to buy.

1987 SE- (Yes, 1987) with 126K miles. 2 dr, AC, cruise, power stuff, 5 spd. Repainted a while back, some surface rust, and just a few electrical and superficial issues from being 22 years old. Solid drivetrain though. Tiny tick from the engine.
1000 Bucks.
OR

1997 SE, 5 spd, 140K miles. No problems. Slightly worse rust. (I live in Toronto... SALT) Should replace front fender because of it.
2000 bucks.

Now I want to spend the least amount humanly possible, probably won't be reselling it for years, and also have this thing last me for several years of winter driving (ride a bike in the summer).

I like the 87 a lot just because of it's trucklike nature, (But its so damn OLD) but what I really want to know is if the 97's have the same bulletproof reputation, and all else being equal about their condition, which one will last me longer?? (The 97 is more refined, though that doesn't matter to me)
Should I expect some problems with this sort of mileage on either??

Thanks everyone.

Dan

I turned the car off and tried to start it again - nothing. The battery is good. There is a ticking noise coming from the fuse box under the hood; the "horn" fuse is ticking. There is also a clicking sound somewhere else (I can't locate it). All this is with the key out of the ignition. Any ideas?

My truck has a newer ( 91 maxima) engine, the same block as stock but with TBI. I don't have the factory manual, so no way to interpret the computer codes. The Hayne's book is less than useless on this one. I just put a tune-up on it and it ran great for one day. Right now it runs so rich that it fouls plugs right away and kills the engine. The ECM shows a code of 1,2,3,4,5 in series, both red and green blinking at the same time. I've cleared the memory and tried again with the same result. What's up??

Hi all,
I thank everyone in advance for any help or advice on this, it's much appreciated.
I got my check engine light on today and it's been flashing on and off. Last night I started to notice the truck having a hard time going up hills and making a weird harsh noise coming from the engine. After I got the light on today I drove it to Autozone and they read me the code P0300 which says possible causes could be Ignition system fault fuel system fault, large vacuum leak, MAF sensor fault, Air fuel/heated oxygen sensor.
I drove it home slowly trying no to put it under hard acceleration since I can feel the engine really struggling and the shifting is not smooth at all as it normally is. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this.
I also wanted to mention that a couple of months back I got the code P455 which I think is pretty common on Nissans, and after doing some research online I ended up replacing the valve above the evap canister and that seemed to fix the problem. I don't know if this is related at all to the evap system. Is it even worth it start changing maybe the oxygen sensor by the air intake or change spark plugs? BTW I have about 60,000 miles on it.

Thanks again http://www.NissanForums.com/images/smilies/awais.gif

I got a 1997 Pathfinder at an auction, and I am very happy with it. Unfortunately, I am missing all of the spare tire equipment under the seats: the jack, the long handle thing for it, etc.

I need to know how to lower the spare tire without the tool. I tried pulling on the chain in either direction (having no idea what it does) and it just broke in my hands from corrosion.

I'd like to avoid chopping the bracket off with an angle grinder or anything like that. Can someone post pictures of what the end of the tool looks like so I can fabricate my own, or advise me on how to get the spare down some other way?

Thanks in advance.

Hey guys,
I have a 1991 Pathfinder XE, 4x4 with 175k miles. Just bought a couple of months ago and am fixing it up with my dad's help.
When I got it, the brakess were aweful, the rear passanger wheel cyclinder leaking fluid. We replaced everything, master cylinder and all, with parts from Autozone.
Two days later the rear passanger wheel cylinder starts leaking again. We thought the part failed, pulled it, took it back for a new one and replaced it again.
Guess what? Leaks again. :lame: It's just that one side, the rest of them are fine. Doesn't seem like this should be rocket science, but both of those parts can't have failed. Do they adjust somehow, or are we missing something?

Thoughts?

Thanks.

I am in dire need of some help.

I have a 92 pathfinder se v6 a/t 4x4

since I have bought the ride almost a year ago it has a persistent intermittent little problem that can be very annoying..
When you go to start the truck its in park.. you push on the break..(you can hear the solenoid release under the dash, and in the shifter area it clicks... the dash light is saying its in park..
but the truck wont start...
you have to push the shift button in.. pull it outta park a tad and keep trying the key moving the shifter ever so slightly forward till it starts..
sometimes this could take 10-15 minutes to get it to go...

Well at work yesterday it wouldnt start no matter what..
NOW the dash light says its in D when the lever is obviously in park and the trucks transmission is obviously in park (truck wont move)
and when you move the shifter all the way to 1 it says its in 2nd...
and the truck will not start.
The transmission linkage for shifting is correctly installed.. the transmission is actuating fine when you move the gear shift selector thru its range..

any ideas..
I am printing my FSM AT section out at kinkos today..
thought someone else might have had same problem..
thanks for feed back
