Just recently when cold I get a constant 'bleep' when the key is in the start position, it goes off when the key returns to the run position. When the engine is warm there is no noise. In 8 years it has NEVER failed to start. Could anyone tell me what this bleep is. ( it is not the 2 second 'heater' bleep)

Hello! I've heard about Nissan Forums for a good while now and thought it time to sign up and say hi.

I'm from the UK and drive a 2003 Gunmetal grey N16 Almera with a 2.2 DCi turbo diesel and 6 speed manual box. Had it for nearly two years now and love every minute of driving it whether it be spirited driving, on the track or just the easy comfortable commute. So I say it's a bit different because you don't read about many nissan diesels unless they are trucks. Especially modified ones.

Some of you may know me from B15sentra.net, AOC and PGA but for those that don't know the car it's modified a fair bit with a larger intercooler and pipes, turbo-back 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust and riding on coilovers, with a number of other performance tweaks and cosmetic changes :). being quite modern it means I'm fighting with clever electronic and stupid ECUs so at the moment all the mods are fitting against the standard mapping. So far power delivery has much improved. A remap and hybrid turbo are on the cards for 2010  Then the beast will be unleashed!

I'll be having a good read of the B15 sentra section to check out chassis tuning etc and the X-Trail lot as they share the same YD22 engine :)

So that's me. I'll stick a picture up if I'm allowed to in the newbie section :fluffy:

Greetings all,
See that many post refer to a site called phat2.net. Following the link to this site has proven difficult for me.

Hey whats up, names Atif, 17, and I'm from Chicago! Decided to join because I'm picking up my new 2001 Infiniti I30 black on black in the next couple days!! :)

I'm new to Nissan forums but not to others. I currently have a 1993 Honda Prelude VTEC with some basic bolt-ons and I'm a moderator on the local Chicagoland Prelude Club forums. I'm also on Honda-tech, h22squad, chicago racing forums, etc. My uncle and I also have a Supra which we are workin' on; 1994 Supra N/A Hardtop painted Kinetic Blue Pearl. Car's bring daily driven as of now but should be stored after we pick the Infiniti up :)

The I30 has been my neighbors car for quite some time, a nice older guy who takes pretty good care of it. It has 156k on it and is in mint condition! I'll get some pics of it tomorrow. He's moving to Vegas and was about to sell it to Carmax today for 1700 so I was like f*** that! Save it for me! lol. I'm his mechanic so I know most stuff about the car but also wanna know how to gain power and the common problem with these things. My friend had a 97 Maxima and I know his tranny clutch packs or something went out so his car would only drive sometimes, and I know he had some oil leaks but wanted to see what else to look out for especially with that many miles. Most are highway but still. I also know these engines are a PITA to work on so if anyone has tips, just LMK! :)

Hope to be on here more often and learn some mroe things about these
engines!

Some pic's
When you push the clutch in, the RPM should drop and pick back up when you shift. Mine doesn't and it sticks in high RPM for a few seconds and then drops like it should. You guys have any recommendations for me?? I have warranty until 80K and I have 45K now.
Thanks and hope to get to know some of you.
