I have an 87 B12 sedan, and I desperately need to put a strut bar on the front towers to stiffen the front suspension. As I mentioned before in a previous post, the inner fenders are rotting along the seams, and there isn't much holding the driver side together at this point. I need to get it on there fast to prevent it from getting worse before I locate the new body parts.
I looked through here before to get an idea of what would fit the car, but so far I haven't seen much still available. Anyone able to spot something online and point me in the right direction?
So far my understanding is that a B13 bar would work as long as it's adjustable. Is this correct?

I take my car to OK Tire who have a maintenance schedule board which I think is based on the old days one size fits all. Now I don't put a lot of kms on ( Canadian) and at just over 3 years (2010) my car has 31000 kms on it. It is the old mileage vs age thing.
Do I wait a few more intervals which would put me in the 40 plus k range and 2014 or have the coolant change this summer?
Thanks

I have a 1996 Altima GLE with 120,000 miles, automatic. When I turn on the air conditioning there's a rattle. It only happens when the AC is on, and it's coming from the compressor side of the engine. AC is blowing pretty cold. It's been happening for a number of months.

Any ideas? Is the compressor going bad? I've seen posts about an upper timing chain guide that rattles, but I don't think that's it because it only happens with AC on.

Thanks.

I have a 2001 Sentra 1.8 that gets hot air blowing after about 3 minutes running at idle from a cold start. It seems strange to me that it would get warm so quickly as my 97 sentra is nothing like that. It doesnt seem to be overheating at all. It is running rough and surging. When first started it seems fine and will rev up normally and then seconds later will start surging at idle from about 850 then down to around a choppy 600rpm and then back to 850 repettitively. If I can get it held at a steady 3000rpm, it will drop sharply and then come back up repettitively. If I just floor it, it will just bog down or pulsate then bog down to the point of stalling. I have cleaned the MAF sensor and tested the plug wiring to it and attached my fuel pressure tester and get about 36 to 38 steady. It threw a PO171 code after running at idle like this for about 10 to 15 min. I dont see any obvious vacuum line leaks. I just bought this car and after jump starting it right up, I drove it home about 44 miles and it ran great all the way. The next time I went to start it this is what I have. It sat unused under a pine tree all winter long here in Wisconsin before I got it. I should also mention that I have an Actron CP9575 code scanner that I dont really know how to use. The number shown in the live data jump all over the place when its running like this but I dont know how to read it or what they mean, what they should be. I printed out a user manual for it but it is not very helpful. If anyone could help I would be very greatful.

Does anyone know if the headlight supports are connected to the radiator support or if they're totally separate parts? I bought a second hand 2001 Maxima and the headlight supports are missing so I've been having trouble getting a safety check. My headlights are all loose and moving around even though they're screwed in. I was thinking it all might be one big piece bc I can't find just the headlight supports on ebay or any of the usual sites. Thoughts?

Hi all.

Working on the timing chain parts project I have going, I found an odd annoying little problem when I pulled the distributor cap in the process of getting the motor to TDC.

I'm not even actually sure what the proper name is for the problem piece. The problem bit is one of the little rubber inserts that fit into an opening in the plate at the "top" (if you turn the distributor upright) of the distributor body, in the plane where the body and cap mate up. It inserts in there, and a part of it hangs out to the outside, and the piece has a little tunnel through it to apparently function as a breather. This is the one that is on the bottom (literally, toward the ground).

The problem is that, somehow or another, this thing is kind of boogered up, so that the end of this little rubber funky shaped block that is toward the inside of the distributor, toward the shaft, won't stay seated down neatly where it's supposed to seat, so that it's actually a little worrying that this thing could work itself out and actually collide with the spinning rotor and cause a hell of a problem and mess getting the distributor all bound up.

I fiddled with it for quite a while (another side problem complication diversion from the actual main job, again), and just can't fiddle and work this thing to sit in place properly and stay put.

I've never encountered anything quite like this little snag on anything before. But thinking about this, I'm sitting here wondering how to sort this out and secure this stupid little plug, and wondering... how/where can you even find things like these little rubber insert bits that live in that neighborhood in the distributor? (Including the ring gasket to seal where the body and cap mate.)

my throw out bearing was making noises so i decided while i was changing it put in a whole kit. so i got the kit on and now when i push the pedal it just goes to the floor with no resistance.so i got underneath and looked at the throwout fork and the throwout bearing is almost against the pressure plate about the distance it needs to be,but the slave is also pretty much all the way out and just barely touching the fork end so i dont see how there could be enough movement to disengage the clutch since the slave is all the way out now. is there some kind of adjustment or is something not right or what? not to familiar with clutches but im pretty sure i put everything back together right.also i didnt unhook nothing to do with they hydrulic system just unbolted the slave from trans.

THE ELECTRIC CHAIR FOR BAR'S PRODUCTS
Bar's head gasket
2005 Nissan Sentra, my car was in very good condition, but some leaks is noticeable on every oil change, because coolant have to be replenished
I took it to the mechanic repair shop, and told him about the leaking coolant
(each 3,000 miles oil change they fill out the reservoir).
Mechanic putted my car in the rack and told me that he did find a coolant leaking in it
I did not have the money to fix the car. The mechanic saw the coolant leaking from (the left side of the engine and behind the alternator)
I went to the internet website and I found Bar’s “glorious reviews” on Bar’s head gasket repair. Then I bought a bottle of the product at Auto Zone
Before to put the product in the coolant, I flashed everything to make sure everything will be clean
The situation after I added the product turned really ugly and Bar’s head gasket repair clogged everything to the extreme, also steam was coming out from the water tank, followed by high pressure, and the temperature going nuts
I turned the engine off, and let the car rest for 1 hour. Then I tried again and still having they some problem
I went back to my home very furious, because my engine smell terrible due to the high temperature
Next day I went to see my mechanic. The mechanic checked everything and found all the
Cooling parts damaged and clogged and also my engine in need to be replaced by a new one. Total cost to do the whole job $ 5,978 including a new engine
I wrote letters to the maker of Bar’s Head Gasket demanding to pay for everything, but no reply
