Need a little help

i got an 87 pulsar and i never had a problem with it till recently. its been running a little louder than usually, not as powerful, and when i drive i can smell a little bit of gas. anyone know what the problem could be?

Is it gas you smell or exhaust? If the car is louder and smells you probably just have an exhaust leak somewhere. Wait till the car is cooled off and crawl under it and make sure there are no holes or cracks anywhere in the exhaust pipes.
