sounds like an electrical demon. Do you have anything tapping the cigarette lighter for power?

Heh, maybe it's a sign to quit smoking.

I'd check the wires leading to it and make sure they aren't frayed, first off.

No i dont smoke but the plug that was dangleing was getting on my nervs so i pluged it in and then it screwd up the tach, and the lights on the guage dont come on anymore. I have unpluged it and checked for bare wires but nothin to see.

Sounds like you are shorting, that would be my best bet, not 100% sure though. Do you have an aftermarket stereo, alarm, something like that? A lot of times they'll grab current from the cig lighter circuit to power accessories like that, sometimes that causes problems.

Pull the fuse for the cig lighter and see if that stops the problem. If it does, then you know there's something up on that circuit.

Good luck.

I noticed that on my fuse block that i was missing some fuses and that soem in it i did not need. I found my pulsar diagram for the fuse block and it shows that the ecu and something else next to it was not there. So i put fuses ther but if the ecu did not have a fuse how did it work corectly?
I did this and my problem was fixed. I must have moved a fuse on acident and it had a short somewhere. I moved stop lamp and audio fuses and my problem was fixed. Thanks for the help.

Nothing is worse than an amateur working on your car before you own it...But then again: Sometimes you get the best deals that way!
