ca16de water pump

i know that there is probably a post about this somewhere, unfortuneatley, i am strapped for time.

I have the ca16de engine in my pulsar....
needs a water pump
bought water pump
removed belts
removed water pump pulley
noticed right away that where the pully mounts to the pump is different, though the pump is the same.
is this common?, i obviously need to take the pump back, also, according to the Chilton's manual, the pump should unbolt right off the engine, though it seems to be attached to various items, like the power steeering bracket, and it looks to be hidden behind the timing cover.

Help if you can, or yell at me for not taking the time to look around.

Actually, come to think of it, it's a CV axle bootripper! The Nissan parts guy calls it by its nontechnical name: 'Employment Security'!

well started to tear it apart. realized that both the upper and lower timing covers need to be removed to access the water pump (ca16de). also decided it was a good opportunity to change the timing belt.

hope this may help some one else.
