there was a 180sx in the us? what frame is that? I don't think that the "240sx" ever had a 1.8 (exept in japan) Or what that the old 200sx's? I know they had the ca18et.
*confused*

Yes it was the old 200sx's. the S12 silvia to be correct. Nissan at that time still believed that the name would be related to the engine size (if you remember...240Z, 260Z, 280z, 300ZX, 200sx, 240sx....etc..) So the 200sx was rear wheeled drive CA20E and the 180sx was same thing but a CA18ET in america. Elsewheres it had a CA18DET or the 200 had a FJ20 . Then Nissan screwed themselves by dropping the CA20E.....and making the 200sx a front wheel drive sentra chassis instead of silvia. And then they made 240 silvias with SR20DE...when it still should have been called a 200sx.

there were no 180sx in america... they were still 200sx but with different trim while still called 200sx(85-88), so as the 200sx with VG30e... your mistaking a lot of thing here !!... the changed the S12 for S13... anyways.. the 200sx S12 engine wont bolt up to any fwd tranny. the Ca18det from the silvia/180sx can be mounted FWD but youll need a lot of thing from the Ca18de to make it happen... save youre self some trouble get a u11-u12 bluebird Ca18det...

Yes and no...I've seen a few 180sx cars before in the states and left hand drive so it depends on who you talk to. The only difference I knew of is the engine...the name was just to go with the engine. I've also seen some parts manuals list it as a 180sx. Either way...in my book its a 200sx but 1.8 turbo motor.

any "CA" can be mounted in a B12, you just the proper mounts and tranny, then you need to mess around with the intake/exhaust/bla,bla,bla. You have so many options with the B12 it's crazy, E series, CA series, GA series, you can do pretty much anything you want with enough money.

exactly. And on the CA topic...yes its a matter of manifolds and few other things for taking a RWD engine to put in FWD. Thats why you're better off getting one from a bluebird or overseas pulsar
