Pulsar crank angle sensor

Anyone know why the spines would get stripped on crank shaft and break indexing peg?

What engine do you have? If it's the CA, the CAS is actually attached to the end of one of the cam shafts.

If you're talking about the timing belt gear on the crank and the crank key getting sheared off you've probably got major problems. Like you've probably bent several valves.

As to why it would shear off.....not really sure.

Recently rebuilt a Honda F22A that sheared the crank key and we had to replace eight valves. Did a bomplete rebuild but the only damage directly related to the sheared key was the bent valves.

Pulsar crank angle

No, the crankangle sensor that is outside the timing belt cover, which attaches to the camshaft. The end of the camshaft, the exhaust side, has this fluted piece and splines which the crankangle sensor fits into. The fluted piece and splines are gone. I know that the 300zx 1990 had a problem with the crankangle sensor due to a factory fault of improper machining of cylinder head. Have found no info on the Pulsar. This is the CA16DE DOHC model. Nissan North America California states that the splines just do not wear out.
