Need help on E-series cam ID FAST
I'm re-rebuilding my engine, and I'm considering a Eurocam-clone JDL cam that GOJO has, but: I've noticed something...
All my E16 engines are running 33M heads with cams that have an "X" cast between the lobes for #2 cylinder. There are no other marks on these stock Nissan cams. HOWEVER: I got a 52A head (From Japan-spec crate E15 turbo engine) in the locker that has a cam which has a "Y" cast in the same location. The lobes look a hair different, but I haven't mic'ed them yet to check for differences. You almost think this would be chromosomal thing ("X", "Y"...LOL)...But there obviously is a difference. Can anyone ID this cam and tell me if there's any advantage of the "Y" cam over the "X" cam or not? Thanks! --RT
