Does anyone have a Pic of the rear transmission mount for a 88 pulsar 1.8?
Mine is broken, its makes it almost impossible to shift into 2,4 & R. I can weld a new ear on to the piece that broke, I imagine there is bushings between the trans, and the mount, also the broken mount I'm looking @ looks like it attaches to one of parallel links(sits right next to the shifter linkage.
U could always pull it and um.....fix it. im not sure where the mounts are myself but this definetly sounds like a serious issue. u might want to look into this asap....
I know its pretty serious, I have no problem welding up a new part, just don't know what it is suppose to look like?
I tried a bolt and a couple of large washers as a temp fix, but it still didn't go int R @ all. Also I can put into all gears if I shut the car off and start it up so it's definitely just a trans/motor positioning issue.
Basically I need to know is how far should the trans be from the mount?
And is it a solid or is there a bushing there, It looks like the original broke away.
I just bought the POS for the winter (hence name wintercar).
Had a few issues, mostly wear -n-tear expected items for a car w/ 150k (basic stuff; clutch, struts, brake shoes, t-stat, right axle, tires, sway bushings, exhaust work) the killer was the $49.00 insurance premium.

Your best bet would be to get a new mount. I am not sure if it is as big an issue on the 1.8s but with the 1.6 there is an issue with bad mounts causing 5th gear popout (replaced mine for it) a search on 5th gear popout should give you lots of info.
Thanks for the search tip.
BTW I went to my local salvage yard today. I noticed that in every sentra every rear mount was missing, but they all still had motors and transmissions. They had 2 pulsars, both carbed autos...
Never read the whole post but while pulling out my tranny 2 days ago, the bolt busted off the rear tranny mount.. The 1 that goes through the bracket bolted to the car and the mount on the transmission.. I had to rip off the sway bar, the tortion bar, and the tranny, then disassemble the whole mount as one. I then continued to try to take out the bolt that was in the mount so it wasnt working.. After an hour of playing around I decided to cut a circle in the rubber and take out the bolt with that metal bushing piece as well.. Went to the local hardware store, grabbed some metal plumbing pipe, stuck it where the old metal bushing was and filled it with silicone (if i just stuck the bolt in, there was alot of play).. Once the silicone was dry, i drilled a 1/4 hole through the middle and voila, a new mount again =)
u know what, im gunna borrow the gf's camera to take pics of this work to try and help u out better.. ill post more info on it tomorrow..
Sounds like we are talking about the same mount, it really is over connected to every pasrt under there...
Don't kill yourself trying to get a pic, I know what a PITA it is to get under these things.... WOW.... I could fill it with something like poly or delrin as well...(a little stiff but last longer)
