ca18det maf

I just swapped in my CA18DET into my '91 240sx. I've read that you can't use the stock KA24DE maf because the ecu won't read it correctly. I also think that there's evidence to that claim 'cause the car dies at idle unless I give it throttle.

One thing that I'm confused about is the shop wired the KA24DE maf wiring harness to the CA18DET harness, which is standard procedure I'm sure. Since I didn't do the wiring, are the wires from the KA24DE maf harness the same as a KA24E maf wiring harness? The KA24DE harness has 4 wires while the KA24E has 3 wires. The stock CA18DET maf (which I don't have) is three wired and is pretty much the same as a KA24E one, from what I've read. When the shop did the wiring for the KA24DE maf, did they leave one wire out?

If this seems confusing, sorry.

i suggest you get some help from the guys in the 240sx section. IMO you should have got the ca18det maf.. the ECU is calibrated for this one ... one option you could think off is getting a JWT ecu with a Z32 maf... thats mostly wath guys use for this swap.
