Idle Speed Control Valve??

ok for about a month now ive had some problems. i have an 89 pulsar nx.

i initially thought it was the fuel pump. it would sputter ALOT until the rpm.

three times now it would sputter so bad that it would just shut off. each time after i let it sit for awhile it would start back up. but this time it wouldnt.

each time it died on me when i put the key in the ON position there would be a clicking noise coming from two places. 1. the ISC valve (little round cylinder behind the throttle body with three wires going to it) and 2. the fuse box. the fuse thats clicking is a big gree square one 2nd from the right above the smaller normal fuses.

when those two things are clicking i found the car will not start. i disconnected the harness from the ISC and no clicking, but there is still clicking from the fuse box. and vice versa... when i took the fuse out i still got clicking from the ISC.

in the haynes manual it shows u how to test the ISC with a ohmameter. i did that and its testing out fine.

the ISC is a dealer part and its 100-115 bucks. id like to know if thast what it is before i replace it or if something else would be causing it to click.

if anyone knows whats wrong here id love to know

i have a 88 sentra that im cutting up just becuase i dont wanna buy a idle speed control valve, its the cylinder just liek u said, and my car used to have a studder when it was cold and trying to reach high rpms but recently except for the first five mintues taht i start my car in the morning my car wont go over 2000 rpm or else it will bounce like crazy as if there is no spark, u can try to full throttle it and it will jsut bounce and sound liek theres once cylinder firing like low low low low HIGH REV low low low low HIGH REV and thats with it anywhere above just a touch of the gas pedal. i know its the isc because i couldnt figure out the problem and i just got out of the car one day and reved the cars throttle under the hood with my hand and smacked everything until it stopped and it stopped when i hit the isc with the back of a screw driver. soooo i am makin the car a convertable for the last few days then stripping it because im gonna swap registratrion to my 89 sentra even though i hate the ga16i. but good luck with your engine
