does the e16-carburated 8 valve have a in tank fuel pump or is it on the motor??? because the 12 valve has a in tank fuel pump i beleive i am currently replacing my carb e16 with my 89 sentra motor doe i have to swap ecu or do they even have computers in carb engines???i almost have my engine out by the way

you need the Ga16i ecu and wiring + an intank fuel pump or somekind of external replacement... best bet would be to buy a whole pump unit from the junkyard.

i have a 89 sentra that i have all the parts i will need for the swap i bought the car as a parts car it has the roof chopped off i payed 50$ and i got the 87 for free and tore the shit out of the engine last winter but by the way were is the ecu located at and what wireing do i have to swap out?? like do i need to change the box were my motor plugs into on the passenger side or can that stay ?? and about the fuel pump so ill have to drop the tank?? and swap out tanks . and for the fuel pump wiring ??? thanx ,joe

o and about the external replacement like a electric and mount it under the hood somewere??

replacement manual should tell you where to mount it.. might be in the engine compartment but youd be good with the pump from the other car (90)... we can continue this thread with the other one in the b12 section. ecu= underneat the passenger seat.
