e16i computer for loan/sale anybody???

I don't know if this an appropriate post but I don't see a for-sale section anywhere so here goes. I have an '87 4wd sentra wagon and it's been running poorly since I bought it late winter. Basically it never makes it out of "warm-up mode" into "closed-loop". The exhaust is extremely rich so it gets bad (18mpg) gas milage and the power is off a little. With the help of my mechanic I've looked at every possible cause to this problem that anyone can think of: the O2 sensor is new; vacuum leaks have been fixed; exhaust backpressure is acceptable; fuel pressure is fine; injector isn't leaking; coolant temp sensor checks out; air intake temp sensor is fine; connections to computer seem fine; mass air-flow sensor has been cleaned and checked; air and fuel filters new; plugs/cap/rotor/wires as new; compression ok (130-140psi at 5000'); TPS sensor is ok.

So unless anybody out there has any good suggestions, the next thing to do (i think) is try a different computer. There was a loose screw shaking around in it for awhile so maybe something got fried? Does anybody out there have a computer that might work for my car? Will any computer from an e16i work in my 4wd car?
Thanks, Alan

Alan, I would suggest that you try another mass airflow sensor. I have seen many go bad, and being able to bench check them is next to impossible. The only way I have ever found them to be at fault was by replacing them with a known good one.

Yes, I have one and an air mass meter too. I have sent you a pm.
