Angry 85 sentra died on the road Help...

Just bought the 85 sentra. IT drove great for thr price once it warmed up. All I did so far was try to adjust the carb due to the chokes high RPM (4000) at start. But that did not work. Any ideas on what to replace? The next day my wife drove it for about 50 miles and when she left a stop light she went about 100'. The car just died. She said it made a funny noise like a screech before it quit. My first thought was timing belt so I pulled back the cover at the top. The timing belt is still on and seems to be working as it should. The car cranks over, has spark and getting fuel. But will not run. I know the gears on the timing belt could be striped. But is there anything else I should check before I pull the cover? Thanks for any help.

For Timing check, a quick check would be to crank engine with aircleaner off and see if it makes intermittant blowing noises out carburater then pull plugs and look into cylinders for foreign object (choke plate screw maybe, but doubtful.), then crank engine with finger plugging each plug hole to see if it intakes and compresses normal (should blow finger off of hole).

No Compression 3 and 4

I started to trouble shoot and knew I was in trouble when I saw the oil cap move up and down. I have compression on 1 and 2 but nothing on 3 and 4. Any quick fixes? Is it easier to change the head or the engine? The car is in great shape inside and out with only 120,000 on it. I paid $540 for it and figure its worth fixing. I have a good 280zx engine think I could make it fit LOL. Please send me you thoughts and ideas.....

Let me know if you need parts; I have a rebuilt cylinder head (Lapped faces/seats, new valve stem seals, stem clearances are good), a new Fel-Pro head gasket and a new Goodyear Gatorback timing belt if you need it. I can make the hop over, no problem. Post here...
