HELP! E-series inlet pipe dilemma

I got a freshly rebuilt (By yours truly) E16, and I discovered too late: The engine in the Pulsar has the coolant inlet pipe which pops straight out of the block and has a small pipe poking out from it which goes to the heater core. The block I used was from an '87 Sentra; The pipe comes straight out, but doesn't have the small pipe like the Pulsar pipe has.

Now: Does one go to Nissan, get the correct pipe, rip the incorrect one out, Devcon seal the hole and press the new pipe in, or...??? I have no practical experience in welding on coolant stuff, and the block is fresh painted. I'd just as soon pull the pipe than try to weld a fitting onto it at this stage.

BTW: I think I did a real nice job on the engine! The block is cast-iron grey hi-temp paint, the head is natural, valve cover and oil pan are painted aluminum. All hardware has been painted fluorescent red (Valve cover nuts, all bolts that aren't internal, etc.) I'll try to get a pic up when I can, I hope ya like it when ya see it. Thanks again! Long live the E-series!

I had a similar replacement issue. Went to the local hardware store and put together several pieces of copper fittings to add the line for the heater core. May still have it around - will look tomorrow.

Any chance you can use hose and a reducer (if needed) in place of metal fittings? Been a while since I dug around an E16 so I'm just guessing here.

go to summit or jegs and go under the cooling section there you will find T adapters for your cooling system instead of ripping out the pipe in the block.just simply T off the fitting into the lower rad hose and presto you have a heater hose. you can even use nice fittings too.....

I do still have the hose fitting I made up It is basicly a t fitting with one small side - not able to post pics but can send you one if you need. You can have the fitting for shipping if you want it.

Yep, that's what I did. I used to swap different year E16 blocks around some years ago and ran into that often. So I bought three extra ones to have around when needed. I still have an extra one here now, Nissan part #21045-50A05. Still need one?
