'87 Sentra won't start after motor change
My son and I changed the motor on a handicapped neighbor's Nissan (from 1 car to the other) and it wouldn't crank at first. I got the Chiltons (AKA Childrens) manual for it but the diagrams are useless for this car (they don't even show the dist wiring or the coil wiring!) I'm old School 510 and Maxima stuff, but this ECC (Electronic Controlled Carb) stuff sucks! I bypassed the inhibitor to get it to crank with the key, but we still have no spark (someone stole the dist from 1 of the motors before we got to it. The neighbors had some crackhead hit them up for over $800 in parts that never arrived and when they asked for money for the same thing a 3rd time, the neighbors finally got wise. The crackhead left and stole all their tools, then when my son and I were working on it, the crackheads did a home invasion on the old couple and stole my tools too, as well as beat up my son while I was at work.)
This old couple just needs wheels and they are driving me crazy since we got the motor in, but it won't start and we're stuck. I don't have the money to buy the factory manual (I already forked out $20 of my own for the near useless Chilton's) which is $55 used, when all I need is a copy of the wiring diagram and the resistance values for the dist to make sure it's good or kaput so I can get the car running. (I'm tired of being chauffeur when I have other things to do)
