Hot!!

hey you guys? i was wondering? is it just me or do most Pulsars heat up quick? My 87 Pulsar Nx (e16i) seems to heat up fast when i'm driving around town, more often then when i drive on the highway. I'm always turning on the heater to get the temp down! it's starting to get annoying too.

i was wondering if this is common among our cars or is this an acutal problem. Either way..is there anything i can do to fix it or make it better?

thanks!

If it's an E16 it's not normal. Down here at the gates of hell my E16 ran right in the middle all summer long. Is your cooling fan coming on? Have you replaced thermostat?

Check the coolant level too. If it is low it will heat up real fast.

i just wanted to add that like with mine, it'll warm up good around town stop and go...but not overheat, just barely under 3/4ish on guage. with free flowing air over 30mph it'll stay at or just under 1/2. But 3/4 should be ok as long as fan is on...also keep in mind my system needs flushed and serviced.

hah, my car is the exact opposite. It wont warm up unless its above 5 degrees celcius outside... in winter i had to shove like 5 pieces of cardbaord to get it to warm up decently fast. I think my thermostat is shot. Even at that, whenever the temperature gets up, I just have to speed up and it just drops rapidly.
