U12 Bluebird SSS Attessa! WOOHOO!

ok, i got given a U12 1989 Nissan Bluebird SSS. This is a JDM vehicle with the pillar less windows, currently has a CA18DE engine and a doughnut drive (Slushy). was rolled so i replaced the two doors and the fender. I was given it with a mission, I am to get as much power possible out of the stock engine without paying out thousands and without changine the engine. So my plan was: Upgrade injectors, swap MAP sensor for one from CA18DET, get exhaust Manifold from CA18DET with turbo and fit and do some serious timing. Think its possible? how else can i get power from a CA18DE?

I had two years back a 180SX witha CA18DET and was pushing 300HP, with full veilside kit, really regret selling the beast too.

if this is in the wrong forum, plz move and i'm sorry, im new here from the MR2 forums!

Cheers, Lvn_MR2 - Adam Tonkin

well, I'm pretty sure the DE and DET MAF sensors are same(it's been said on this and other forums) and I've got a stock DET manifold I'll let go for cheap, but I wouldn't turn up the boost a whole lot with those DE pistons because of the compression ratio, but you could probably play with the timing to help it some. There's a High compression DET being built here( http://nissaninfiniticlub.com/forums...s=&forumid=126 ).
Why'd you sell the 180?

I brought and sold the 180 before i became mechanically minded. It killed two LSD auto trannys, killed the turbo and blew the HG, not to mention it was running 19PSI of boost also had a link ECU. full veilside bodykit with high rise rear wing, lowered, tints everythiung, pitty i was so stupid to sell it! but the SSS will be my beast of revenge. in time i will try and swap the piston heads. can i use the N/A intake with a turbo? i sispect that the auto trans wont hold upto much boost, but auto trannys out here sell for $70! thats like $45 USD!

what other performance mods can i doo?

Whoever wants the mani. can have the heat shields if they want 'em too.

The N/A intake and Turbo intake both function the same, there are no performance benifits between turno or not turbo heads but the intake cam out of one of the DE's is supposed to be better but I don't remember which, some have the variable intake runner crap on the manifold but people find this system useless with higher than stock boost. The RWD/later AWD manifold seems that it would flow better with it's larger diameter runners.
