I just wanted to know if anybody could tell who makes a turbo for an E16s/E16i engine. Ive heard of a T25 turbo but when I looked it up online they refer to the GA16 engine.
Iīm about to go turbo on my E16s, i think the best one for this engine is the T25 or a T28.
What iīm not sure is if the original carb will run well with the turbo. Anyone know about this???
Today I called a mechanic that does turbo instalations and he says i have to put a T3, i think its to big for an 1.6 litre engine, what do you think???
Kinda depens on how much lag and power you want, I would think that on a single cam 1.6 a T3 would be getting close to the engine's limits, mighht wanna look into an E15et, there's alot of info scattered around this section.

well, overall you'd be better off going with a E15ET and just getting a bigger turbo. You'll never get much out of the E16s...no offense to anyone, but its really not a turbo happy motor, just a little econo motor...E15ET was built good for turbo, and if you look its different from the E16 (except basic block design)

E16 can only handle like 6-7 psi AND you'd have to get E15 EFI and exhaust components to make it worth it...sooo I agree with the other guys...get an E15ET and boost the hell out of it. And in case you were wondering, the stock turbo on the E15 is a T2...the only one that wouldnt destroy an E16

alot of people ask about boosting the e-series, is it really worth the work or are you guy's just having fun. putting in a CA18 would seeem like a better option unless i'm missing something. yeah it costs $$ but so does doing anything to an e-series.
Well i really donīt know what to do.
Some people say one thing some another. Y just want to have a little more power on my car, and donīt want to make 300HP. I know that the E16S isnīt a great engine, but its running great, and I donīt want to buy a used engine that i donīt know its condition.
Now what is making me crazy is the mechanic that whants to put a T3, the guy seems to know a lot, he prepares profesional racing cars and he showed me some of his cars and they are great. But i still think that a T25 would be more adequate.
A T3 would be great if you were revving up to 8k or 9k rpm. The downside is it will lag much longer than a T25. A T25 will typically spool up at around 2500 rpm and provide all the boost you'll need up to the E16 redline.

if anything i'd go with T25, you really have no reason to run T3 on MOST 4cylinder STREET cars.
