Question 11M v 31M Heads

I have a bad head on my car and have some old heads around that i'm thinking about swapping on. One is an 11M head that came from the E15 engine....apparently has an 18.5cc combustion chamber. The second is a 31M head from an E16 engine witha 24.5cc combustion chamber. Both were low swirl design for use with carburated version. I have an E16 block.

Has anyone bolted an 11M head on the E16 block? The 11M head looks in better shape, but i'm worried about the compression issues with the smaller combustion chamber.

Get that 11M checked and reworked if necessary, slap that sucker on and run it. Don't go cheap on the head gasket and get new head bolts.

The 11M has high swirl intake ports. This means they are narrower than other heads like the 33M. There are two schools of thought on this.
1. Narrower ports restricts air flow and reduces hp.
2. Narrower ports increase intake velocity. Check out THIS LINK and THIS LINK. More info HERE.

My 86 pulsar E16 motor came with an 11M head stock. It must bolt on directly. My book says an 86 E16 has 9.5:1 compression.

I have a 15M head around...
Too small combustion chamber for my e16st turbo project, I would need a 3.5 mm hg to get 9:1 cr...

I bolted 15M head on my mums E16 Sunny (was my car then ) and it has worked well for over five years. Compression ratio is something like 11:1 but still there hasn't been any problems

I'm from BC so we don't have very many E15 heads at all! I'll buy ur E15 head off you if ur selling it. I'm trying to get a pacesetter header also.
