it's not carbed, you have the E16i, unless the car is from mexico or canada or something like that, you've got TBI(throttle body injection) with a single injector in the throttle body. The first thing you can do is take some of the restrictive piping off of the air cleaner and flip the lid upside down, there is also a K&N filter made for your engine. There's also a throttle body swap that someone's working on in conjunction with a CAI from a Dodge( http://www.nissanforums.com/showthread.php?t=34023 )
And a little searching can go a long way. Oh yeah, welcome to nissanforums!

I did some checking, bone head owns an older 300ZX turbo. All of the posts he has originated have been noob questions that someone with mechanical knowhow wouldn't need to ask. He's also not liked in the 300ZX section. He sounds like he thinks he's on a Honda forum. Don't know why he's trashing up our forum with his useless input.

Anyway, back on topic....check out THIS LINK and look at the Euro cam and valve springs. Don't know if they have any left but an E15ET head would really help. Also, a set of headers... S&S Headers and Pacesetter make a decent enough header. A high flow cat and cat-back system would help also.

please excuse my negative response towards our rather rude guest (SKD Tech) as that just puts me at his level. no reason to clutter the forum with such nonsense. anyways, back to relevant information! if u go as far as a cam and full exhaust u would really want to look into a new carb. the weber 32/36 is a nice conversion or u could go all out and purchase side drafts which are rather expensive in comparison. another intake upgrade u could look into though rather extensive and rare is MPFI. u would have ot aquire the system off a e15et and from what ive read convert the ga16de's harness and ecu to run it, but it would be the most benificial upgrade for street and would make it much easier to upgrade further.
