O.k. I did on my Sentra 88' a engine swap, because I my Transmision was Burning and I waited to long until it went out and in the process of burning completetly it messed up my engine. (I went to a mechanic to ask questions and want I can do about it!) But I ordered a pretty new engine don't know if it really works, but hope it does. I really need help on how to find out what is worng with my car now I did the swap and all wires were plug up, but I got everything ready and turn the key and I get no car turning on. I only hear a nose from the engine it self that comes on for 2 seconds and stops. I think it is the fuel pump, but I got no starter working. I got the starter tested and it good and working, but I don't know were else too look? I need mayor help can some one hel me?

wow, i hate these kind of things cause its hard to help someone when you can't see the damn thing. All I can think of is double check all electrical connections, fuel pump, ECU, Fuel lines, coil......cam timing.....i dunno, anyone else wanna take a stab at this??????

No, the starter is not even kikcing on, but I got it tested and it was good. Is there supose to be a Red wire from the battery and a Black wire from the battery and a small ground looking wire hooked up to the starter?

Red cable from battery to starter 'big lead'; It grounds through the transaxle case, which has a cable going from it to the battery black cable. The little terminal on the starter (Solenoid), when given 12 volts, cranks the engine.

So does the starter have bolted on it a red only wire, what about a wierd black small wire coming from the chassi on the transmission side on the back were the brake fluid is at. There is a small flat looking plug for a wire but I can't find one or don't know what wierd goes there.

there is a wire somewhere for it (if you're talking about what i thin kyou're takling about) I tested mine without that thing plugged on and it didn't make a difference.
edit: although i never tried starting it without that ! could be a ground for the starter you never know, find somethign that plugs onto it or just use a good wire to ground it see what it does........someone else confirm though that i know what i'm talking about so that i dont sound like a :dumbass: a mess up this poor guys car

your starter should resemble something like the one in the pic. There will be one small wire coming off the starter, and another larger wire going to the positive battery terminal. It may look different but the readings will be the same.
I replacd the motor in mine this weekend and had the same problem. With mine it turned out to be a mixed up plug between ox sensor and distributor. I think these plugs are the same and when we laid out our harness everything fit like a charm but.... we still messed up. I changed those two plugs and it fired up right away. hope this helps.
i think minute rice's starter looks funky compared to mine......i'll look at mine in the light tomorrow.

it was a new starter before I got the car a couple years ago, the one on my E16s (auto) looks like that too but the one off the pulsar (CA18 auto) has a wire coming off it with a connector on the end. Mine e16 has a manual tranny too.

I'm just wondering if the E16i from the pulsar has different wiring, cause its a different starter altogether too. Well, not completely different, but they aren't interchangeable.
