ca18det swap question

(totally noob question, i know...i tried searching)
what are all the years and models that the fwd ca18det will swap into??

i have a 93 NX2000, and want a weekend playcar, and was thinkin about the old pulsar/200sx option. thought about the whole SR-240sx thing, but everybody does that now. TIA.

Good question. I can tell you some cars that have the CA swapped into them.

Sentra - B11, B12
240SX - S13, S14
200SX - S12
Pulsar - N12, KN13
310
510

Not all of those are FWD and there are probably more models that have the CA swap, those are just the ones I know about. Probably the easiest FWD swap of the bunch would be a KN13 that already has a CA18DE, 88-90 Pulsar SE.

it should bolt in to a B11 if I remember what Myet said correctly, He's doing a CA18DE in his B11.

I wouldn't waste my time thinking about a CA20E (no DET). B11 is essentially the same engine compartment as a B12 so it won't be any more difficult than the B12.

We all know the success boost_boy has had with his CA18DET powered B12s. For the B11/12 chassis the CA18DET remains the best bang for the buck and the least drama to install...compared to an SR20DET. The SR is a good engine but I'd personally rather not deal with one.

CA18DETs came in FWD configuration. It's all the same block, RWD models have different intake manifolds and a mechanical fan on the water pump. If you really want to get the skinny on these motors and get info on where to by you should hop on over to the CA section of the NICO Forum.
